Not a Moment
Not a Momentis an effort to preserve, organize, and amplify the mass amounts of information regarding the Black Lives Matter movement. The challengewas to organize a giant influx of helpful information regarding Black Lives matter support and education. The goal was to find a way to organize the mass influx of information being shared on social media so it doesn't get lost in a feed. Solve the issue of list overload and information overlap that can highlight the same information and bury more uncommon resources.

The Problem
Instagram was by far one of the greatest platforms for activist social posts throughout the height of Summer 2020. However, the only option to save any and all shared posts is to save to collections. Instagram collections save posts in the order you saved them and while you can create several collections, it'll live in the same general library as saved fashion posts, or comedy posts, making it much harder to refer back to.
If people don't save a post altogether, the chances of them ever finding that information again decreases almost entirely. Posts are pushed further and further down people's profiles and disappear almost immediately from a feed programmed to exclusively deliver new content.

The Website
With hundreds of new resources being shared every day, I knew time was of the essence in every sense of the phrase. People were getting feed fatigue, headlines were changing every day, and valuable information was slipping through my fingers. At the time I only had experience building sites on Squarespace or Wix, so I got on Wix and started to build.

Categorizing
Posts could be classified under three general designs: single topic post, carousel posts with longer explanations, and lists. A very common instance of information overlap was having multiple lists feature the same resources. I knew I would have to treat these posts differently but have one universal form of filtering to help further refine searches.

Filtering
Each page has its own filter tabs, giving the user the ability to browse the general topic they selected on the homepage or refine further based on interest. It was an incredibly time consuming process to sort through posts of lists, find links, and move data into CMS collections to feature, but I think it pays off massively when people can easily find ways to learn that work for them without putting in large amounts of effort.

Additional Assets
For specific topics, I had to create a simple template to streamline the look of the content and have the ability to link them out.

Designing the site in two weeks presented a plethora of obstacles, long nights, and growth. I am so incredibly proud of the work that has been done so far but as the name says, it's not a moment's worth of work. I hope to move the site over to a new platform with more capability to handle these large collections and less limitations when it comes to the design.
